SD Eibar's Asier Riesgo extends contract until 2019
Both parties reached an agreement following a short period of negotiations
SD Eibar and goalkeeper Asier Riesgo have reached an agreement to extend the player's contract until 2019.
Riesgo joined Eibar in the summer of 2015 on a one-year deal, which was extended until 2018 during the course of last season.
Following a short period of negotiations, an agreement has now been reached for Riesgo's current contract to be extended by a further season, tying him to the club until June 2019.
In an interview given to SD Eibar's website, the Deba-born custodian expressed his satisfaction at having secured a contract extension. "Since joining Eibar things have gone really well, I'm very grateful to the club and I can't ask for anything more. They've offered me a one-year extension and I'm really happy".
"I've given my all in my time here. When I came here, it was initially for a year and after a good first season, I was offered a contract renewal and I've now signed on for a further year. I hope to be able to end my career here, if I do it'll mean that things have worked out very well. It would be great and I'd be delighted to finish here, but there are still two years to go and it's early days".
Riesgo went on to insist that "the club is doing a really good job to put together a strong core group. We can't go looking all that far ahead, but the club is committed to offering longer-term contracts and we must work really hard to try and win each week as we look to achieve our targets".
