Yerai Martin: “Our goal now is to add as many points as possible in the two remaining matches”

The coach has been happy with survival and praised the work of his entire team

Despite not having been able to celebrate survival on the field, coach Yerai Martin was satisfied in what was the first press conference offered since his team sealed the mathematical survival for another season in Liga F.

He did not spare words of praise for his players and the rest of the staff. “The key to the season we have had has been the locker room, the great people and great players we have, who have helped each other a lot,” he said, aware of the role that each person on the team had.

Yerai Martin expects a difficult match on Sunday, conditioned by the weather and the pitch, something which is different to the rest and that can make matters more tricky for the visitors.

“Tenerife is a strong team at home, although it is true that they are not on their best run, it is true that it is also their last game of the season in front of their fans and they will want to do a great job,” he explained about one of the direct rivals at the moment and which is similar in many ways to Eibar itself.

Regarding his players, he has the full squad except for the absence of Amaia Peña and Hapsatou Malado, who has not returned on time from her training camp with the Senegal national team. Andrea Álvarez and Esperanza Pizarro have joined their teammates in the past few days and will also be part of the expedition to Tenerife.

Now, the only thing left to do is to get as many points as possible in the two remaining matches. The first one, this Sunday at 12:00 (11:00 in Canarias) against Tenerife, a direct rival. Yerai Martin's team will be looking to redeem themselves from a game “in which we were not up to expectations and from which we hope to get a better result than in the first leg”, according to the coach.

The last away match will be played on Sunday when the team will travel tomorrow to the Canary Islands for what will be the penultimate match of the season.
