Takashi Inui to attend reception in Tokyo with Japanese Prime Minister on 6 April
The SD Eibar man has received an invitation from the Japanese government
Eibar midfielder Takashi Inui is set to travel to Japan to attend a reception and meal with the Japanese Prime Minister on 6 April to coincide with the visit of the Spanish Kings to the country.
Inui is set to travel to Japan following the team's game against Villarreal CF and will return to Eibar on 7 April. The invitation to attend the ceremony came from the Spanish embassy, who requested the permission of SD Eibar.
After weighing up the pros and cons and consulting the director of football and the first-team coach, the club decided to allow Inui to travel, a decision which reflects an awareness that the trip will represent a forward step in terms of the club's internationalisation strategy.
SD Eibar is in contact with Japanese firms interested in working with the club and to this end, a representative from the club's marketing department travelled to Japan and China a few weeks ago in an effort to establish business relationships. The club currently boasts a Japanese-language version of its website and publishes posts in Japanese on its social media channels and is shortly set to have an online presence in Chinese.
The trip to Toyko will feature a bilteral commercial relations meeting, which is to be attended by over 300 Japanese and Spanish business owners and will be opened by the King of Spain.
