Season ticket campaign bids to spread ths SD Eibar virus
The club has launched an eye-catching campaign in an effort to attract new season ticket holders
SD Eibar have rolled out an original and eye-catching campaign to attract new season ticket holders for the home games to be played in 2017 in the wake of the capacity increase at Ipurua following the opening of the new East Stand.
By way of a prelude to the campaign, this lunchtime a group of actors sporting white overalls emerged at the end of José Luis Mendilibar's regular pre-match press conference to hand out masks as they warned of the dangers related to the spread of the SD Eibar virus.
The campaign kicks off this weekend and will run until the end of December and is set to be advertised in the media and promoted through street marketing initiatives to be staged not just in Eibar, but also in Elgoibar, Mendaro, Deba, Ermua, Zaldibar, Durango, Placencia, Bergara, Elgeta and Arrasate, in a bid to see the SD Eibar virus spread throughout the local population.
New season tickets holders for games in 2017 will be able to enjoy fixtures from the start of January (before the end of the first half of the season) and it's worth remembering that we begin the new calendar year by hosting some exciting opposition: the first two matches at Ipurua in 2017 see us take on Atlético Madrid and FC Barcelona.
- Explanation of the campaign:
Since 2014, support for SD Eibar has spread like a virus amongst Eibar locals and fans of other teams. This virus brings with it a love for our team, a connection with the club, enjoyment of its triumphs and support when things don't go as well as we'd hoped. We're aware that 5% of the Spanish population name Eibar amongst their three favourite clubs, whilst support is also on the rise throughout Biscay and Gipuzkoa. We want to see this virus continue to spread and encourage all supporters to become season ticket holders and infect others with their support.
