Joseba Etxeberria, new Eibar coach

Joseba Etxeberria (Elgoibar, 1977) will be the new coach of Sociedad Deportiva Eibar next season. The coach from Guipuzcoa arrives at the club after having coached Mirandés for the last two seasons. He previously coached Bilbao Athletic (19/20 and 20/21), Tenerife, Amorebieta, Basconia, was Ernesto Valverde's assistant at Athletic Club in the 15/16 campaign, and also coached various Athletic Club youth teams.

At the helm of CD Mirandés, Etxeberria has comfortably achieved his main objective: survival. This season, Mirandés finished in 16th position, eight points above relegation. The previous season, 2021/22, they finished fourteenth, nine points above relegation, playing an attractive and eye-catching style with a very young squad.

Along with Etxeberria, Jorge Pérez, his assistant coach, and former SD Eibar player Luis Prieto, as fitness coach, have also joined Eibar.
