Garitano won’t continue at Eibar next season

Gaizka Garitano will not continue in charge of Sociedad Deportiva Eibar’s men's first team next season. The club and the coach have decided to part ways by mutual agreement. Alongside Garitano, assistant coach Patxi Ferreira will not continue with the team either.

Garitano has coached Eibar in 228 games across his two spells in charge of the team. After a first spell in which he managed Los Armeros to promotion from Segunda B to Primera, the top division of Spanish football, the Basque manager took the reins again last season, when Eibar lost out in the play-offs to Girona.

This season, he again qualified the team for the play-offs, where they were knocked out by Alavés.

Sociedad Deportiva Eibar would like to thank both Gaizka Garitano and Patxi Ferreira for their professionalism and commitment throughout this time, and the club wishes them the best of luck for the future.
