Eskozia La Brava & Bihurri set to represent Eibar at Scotland's Highland Games
SD Eibar and the city council are playing an active role in the initiative
SD Eibar is set to be represented at a Highland Games event to be held on 15 July, with club representatives due to take part in what's a highly traditional sporting event and festival within Scotland. Supporters' group Eskozia la Brava initiated Eibar's participation in the event, at which world-record-holding lumberjack, Ernesto Ezpeleta Bihurri will fly the flag for the Armeros.
Speaking about the club's involvement at the Games, SD Eibar's president, Amaia Gorostiza, explained that it represents a further example of the club's commitment to offer coverage of and support activities which are not necessarily football-related. The mayor of Eibar, Alberto Albistegui, expressed his thanks to Eskozia La Brava for their participation, whilst Koldo Ayuso, a member of the supporters' group, revealed the details of the trip, which is poised to be the subject of a documentary.
For his part, Bihurri insisted that he is treating the event with the utmost respect and noted that the contest will comprise several different rural sporting disciplines
