REPORT. Eibar beat Sporting Huelva to get their first win at Ipurua (1-0)

Andrea Álvarez's goal gives the Armeras a win over bottom club Sporting Club de Huelva

Eibar won their first game of the season at Ipurua against Sporting Club de Huelva, who were bottom of the table. The game started with a greater intensity on the part of the Armeras than in previous matches, pressing from the start and with greater comfort in attack. Even so, the first half passed without too many clear goal scoring chances, but quite comfortably against an opponent that did not generate too much danger and hardly came close to the Eibar goal.

Campos managed to reach the opponent's area on several occasions within the first 20 minutes of the game, but was halted by the Andalusian team's defences. The first half came to an end without too many scares for either side and ending with no goals on the scoreboard.

The home team were superior throughout the game, and came out after the break with more confidence. They struggled to generate scoring chances until, in the 71st minute, Andrea Álvarez finished off a perfect pass from Andrea Sierra, making it the only goal of the game.

SD Eibar's women's first team thus registered their first home win over bottom side Sporting Club de Huelva. The win gives them some breathing space in a competition that has been far from easy for the Armeras, giving them a six-point lead over the Andalusians. The next match, against one of the strongest rivals, UD Levante, wilnext Saturday in Valencia.
