Amaia Gorostiza: Our focus remains on the promotion places

Eibar president, Amaia Gorostiza, has assured that "our focus continues to be on the promotion places and on being able to return to the First Division".

Accompanied by the club's CEO, Jon Ander Ulazia, Amaia Gorostiza took stock of the recently concluded season and set out the club’s plans for the coming months.

SELF-CRITICAL REFLECTION

"We have made an internal reflection with self-criticism and there have been certain details in very critical specific moments that have not gone well. Logically we are working hard on them to improve as much as we can."

"We are all aware that Segunda is a tough, long competition and the teams are very evenly matched in sporting terms."

SUSTAINABLE PROJECT

"The club has a project for the future that is sustainable, viable and adaptable to different situations. It is a living project, we work every season with various scenarios, we are not oblivious to what happened to us last season and this season and it can happen to us again."

"Our focus continues to be on being in the promotion places and being able to return to Primera. We are working to achieve this. Between all of us we can make the effort again, but not before adjusting to our new budgets, which we are already working on."

GARITANO-FERREIRA

"I want to thank from the bottom of our hearts the work that both Gaizka Garitano and Patxi Ferreira have done. The objective has not been achieved and therefore the contract and the link with them has ended, but they have done a good job, they fought until the end, there is a lot of effort and a lot of dedication behind it. In the two seasons that they have been here we have been just a breath away from achieving the much desired goal of promotion. 151 points in the two seasons is a historic figure for Eibar."

"The emotional cost of these two seasons has been so brutal, we've had it so close to our fingers and it has slipped away from us at the last second, which is devastating. We have all felt an atrocious sorrow and disappointment. We are human and Gaizka and Patxi have also felt a lot of pain. Emotionally it is very hard, it weighs on you. We have not doubted Gaizka and Patxi's value, we put our trust in them because they deserve it, because they have shown us that we can put our trust in them.”

"For Eibar, Gaizka is a legend, a person who rose from Segunda B to Segunda and from Segunda to Primera consecutively and who, when we have gone down, has been willing to come here to try again. He feels that Eibar is his club, it is his club, and we feel that Gaizka is part of the club and we have nothing but words of thanks for him."

JOSEBA ETXEBERRIA

"We are already working on the new season, the new coach was announced yesterday, who comes with great enthusiasm, and we are moving very fast. It was a week ago today that we had the last game and we got to work the next day."

"Joseba Etxeberria can bring a change, a breath of fresh air, excitement. He is a person who comes with hunger, with the desire to prove himself and that is very important for us and even for the players themselves because they are the first ones who are dejected with what has happened."

PRE-SEASON

"Pre-season is going to be done here with the double objective of minimising expenses, which is a priority, and at the same time we have the opportunity for the fans who have also been emotionally hit to have the opportunity to come, see the team and participate in the friendly matches established and in the pre-season, which is going to be done in Atxabalpe."

WOMEN'S TEAM IN IPURUA

"With respect to the women's team, a very big congratulations to the team for the promotion to Primera, we are in a professional league and within the women's team we will have to add some additions to reinforce it, but we must not forget that a great feat has been achieved from a practically integral restructuring of the group."

"I announce that the women's team is going to play in Ipurua. There are no pitches or facilities that meet the requirements that the women's professional league demands of us. The only option we have is for the women's team to play at Ipurua. This shows us the importance of the training facilities.”

SPORTS CITY

"We have obtained the approval of the General Urban Development Plan of Mallabia, from there we are waiting for the building permits from the Mallabia City Council. We, for our part, have already carried out the necessary tenders and awards."

INCOME 23-24

Jon Ander Ulazia: "The revenue figure remains stable compared to last season, at around 10 million euros. From there, whatever we can allocate from our piggy bank. We were planning to use around 20 million euros over the next three years to try to achieve our objective. The forecasts are more positive than the ones we presented at the Shareholders' Meeting, where we foresaw a loss of almost 12 million euros."

"In the coming weeks we will be releasing concrete measures aimed at reducing expenses as well as the concrete numbers we will have in the budget. We have hard work to do during the summer in terms of expenses to try to adjust it as much as possible."
